Pre-Filing Credit Counseling Course
- You MUST take the credit counseling before you can file bankruptcy
- You can take the course online, via phone or in person
- It costs approximately $25.00
- If you are not able to pay the amount for credit counseling due to a disability or extreme financial condition,
- You MAY be able to take the course for FREE (ask the credit counseling provider for information regarding this).
Financial Management Course
- You must take a second course after you file bankruptcy
- It is called the pre-discharge or post-bankruptcy course
- You may take it where you took the first course
- It must be taken before you attend your 341 meeting
- It costs anywhere between $15 and $36
- Once again, you may be able to take it for FREE if you have limited income
